Very Random Questions for Sales Managers

describe the imageToo many early mornings and late nights are causing me to think about so many things.  Some very pertinent to what we do with our members and the performance of sales teams, but others are very random.  Feel free to add to the list or answer some of these timeless questions.

Why is it…?

  • Our highest performing members seem to always have more questions than answers?

  • When I search Amazon with “how to sell”, 39,789 books come forth?

  • When I search Amazon on “how to coach sales”, only 119 are recommended?

  • So many use the excuse “I’m too busy”?

  • EcSELL’s highest performers are least likely to use the above excuse?

  • My 15 year old daughter thinks her parents are so lame?

  • My 21 year old daughter thinks her parents got so smart and cool the past three years?

  • So much is expected of sales management?

  • Fewer than half of the companies in U.S. provide sales management training?

  • Some managers see their teams as an opportunity to help so many, while others view them as opportunities to close deals?

  • The first sip of coffee tastes so good in the morning?

  • So few realize they can do so much more?

  • Most leaders don’t get the fact their role is to teach others how to fish, not fish for them?

  • Ducks know when to fly south?

  • SVP’s don’t spend enough time coaching coaches?

  • Sales leadership continues to promote based on one’s ability to sell as opposed to one’s ability to coach?

  • Too few elect to be the difference in somebody’s life each and every day?

  • The love of a dog is so amazingly unconditional?

  • So many more attend our spring Summit versus our fall Summit?

  • Most companies track sales rep activity, but nobody tracks sales management activity?

  • Sales managers spend more time with lower producers versus top producers?

  • That I believe we can change the world with the talent of the EcSELL team?

Hey Bill,

I loved your blog post. It made me laugh out loud (LOL to the hip people) I don't have answers to any of your questions, but Douglas Adams fans will know that the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is 42 :-)...
