100+ EVP of Sales and their sales management teams joined EcSELL Institute on a sales coaching journey at the spring Sales Coaching Summit in Scottsdale, AZ this week.
Objectives of the spring Sales Coaching Summit:
- Understand habits and behaviors of great sales coaches
- Learn the science and resulting impact of engagement and how to affect it
- How to develop the highest performing teams
The Summit attendees will be discussing the evolution of sales coaching and power an extraordinary sales coach has on sales team / sales rep performance.
Below is an exercise to get you thinking about the difference between a good sales coach and an extraordinary sales coach.
Reader - Do this exercise yourself!
Think about and hold in your brain the name of one person who has helped you get to a place professionally or personally you could not have gotten without their help. A person that made you feel good about who you were, what you were doing and where you were going—someone other than a parent. This person could be a teacher, an athletic coach, a mentor, family friend, you decide.
Write down two-three characteristics or traits that made them so powerful. Do this now.
Ask yourself these three questions.
- Would you be as far as you are today if that person were not in your life?
- Look at the characteristics you just wrote down—are you those things to your sales team?
- If your entire sales team was here and going through this exercise, how many of them would write down your name?
Shouldn’t they be writing your name down?
Now ask yourself, what are you going to do about it?
Then ask yourself, "WHY AREN'T YOU AT THE SALES COACHING SUMMIT LEARNING HOW TO BE AN EXTRAORDINARY SALES COACH?!"
